Speech and Language Therapist - Band 5 - Merton Children’s SLT - 37.5hrs full-time/ part-time considered Would you like to work in Merton Community Clinics? Would you like to develop experience with pre-school children? We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Speech and Language Therapist, to join our Speech and Language Therapy Service in Merton Borough. This role would suit a newly qualified therapist or a current Band 5 therapist looking to broaden their experience in generalist community clinics. Your post will involve working in 2 community clinics in Mitcham, with children from 2 to 5 years who have a range of speech, language and communication needs. You will be supported to manage a caseload of preschool children to provide assessment, treatment planning and delivery of interventions. The wider SLT Team in Merton are commissioned to provide a service for speech disorders, dysfluency, AAC needs and dysphagia in children and young people up to the age of 19 years, so you will be well supported by senior staff with additional skills/experience. You will work closely with established multi-professional teams within Merton Community Services and with outside services to deliver speech and language therapy advice and treatment meeting the needs of children and young people in Merton. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with children and your communication and team working skills will be of a high standard. We are committed to professional development and evidence based practice, offering regular in-service training and peer group / one to one supervision. Internal and external courses are supported. You will be required to engage in appraisal processes and be willing to further develop clinical skills.
